MOSS STACK is a structural module prototype that aims to boost interactions between people and vegetation within architectural spaces, particularly learning environments. Interlocking masonry without mortar allows variability in aggregation over time. as the form can be modified. The curvature of the module facilitates rainwater flow and light diffusion that sustains healthy moss growth. The module aims to create a tactile, engaging, and interactive environment that uses moss to enhance mental and physical well-being. Studies have shown that introducing moss into learning environments benefit student ability to focus, information retention, and happiness levels. Moss regulates humidity and temperature within a space and its acoustic properties soften noises as well. The combination of vegetation and stacking modules promotes probiotic microbial health which can in turn improve academic performance.
